What is physical therapy?

Physical therapists are licensed healthcare professionals who evaluate and treat individuals with pain and/or functional limitations. Your first visit will consist of a thorough evaluation of your problem followed by development of a treatment plan to reduce pain and restore function. You can expect your treatment to involve therapeutic exercises and functional training and may also include manual therapy or modalities (heat, electricity, ultrasound) all aimed at getting you back to what you love to do.

Michelle is a 1990 graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy. Michelle is certified by the McKenzie Institute in mechanical diagnosis and therapy for the spine and extremities. Her continuing education includes extensive study of orthopedic disorders and their treatment.

Kevin is a June 2000 graduate of Baker College with an associates degree as a physical therapist assistant. Kevin passed his licensing exam in January 2007. He continues his education with McKenzie courses for the spine and other orthopedic courses.
